After General Douglas MacArthur, MacArthur Park was established in 1889 when Little Rock purchased the area to construct a public park. Originally, the area comprised a majestic Japanese Tea House and gardens, as well as two ponds and a bandstand. The park has since been expanded to include a variety of amenities, including a playground, a jogging-bicycling path, a picnic area, and a boating dock. MacArthur Park is a great destination for all types of recreation.
